How to make a Blob Clock

Materials:

  • Wood

  • Sticker Numbers

  • Mechanism\Hands

  • Paint = Yellow and White

  • Stick on rubbery letters

  • Jig Saw

  • Glittery stick on shapes

  • Protractor\Pencil

  • Sandpaper

  • Battery

Steps

  1. Draw a blob shape onto a piece of wood.

  2. Get an adult to help to cut your wood with the jig saw, and get them to drill a hole in the middle of the clock.

  3. Use sandpaper to sand along the edges ( might be sharp.)

  4. Paint with white paint first.

  5. Wait for paint to dry.

  6. Put yellow paint on ( 2 layers.)

  7. Wait for paint to dry

  8. Put second layer on, then wait for that to dry.

  9. Measure out where the numbers go ( use protractor - every 30 degrees.)

  10. Put numbers on in place the place where you have ruled. ( just the numbers 12,3,6 and 9.)

  11. Put glittery shapes on for the other numbers.

  12. Stick sticky letters on ( you can write anything. It is also optional to put the letters on.)

  13. Tada your clock is made!

Tip: to make your clock work you will need a battery

  1. Great job AS. I like your helpful hints in brackets (good idea)! I also like the tip at the bottom, that's good to know! I often buy things and then find out when I am at home that I need a battery and I don't have any - grrrr!
